New test agents permit world’s first security validation of 5G SA voice services

Berlin, September 7, 2020 – Mobile security specialist GSMK today announced the world’s first successful security validation of a Voice over New Radio (VoNR) implementation using GSMK-developed 5G SA over-the-air test agents. This makes GSMK the world’s first provider of cellular network security assessments capable of offering a test suite for this next-generation technology.

GSMK’s new test suite permits security assessments in testbeds as well as on live 5G networks, allowing for assessments of the security posture of a single node, nodal cluster, or the entire voice service chain. Fuzzing and load tests can also be conducted to enrich security tests. GSMK can thus secure Voice over New Radio connections and give mobile network operators deploying the technology peace of mind concering RAN and IMS integrity and security.
